Scholarships BioGrad Training

What is the BioGrad Training Scholarship Scheme?

The BioGrad Training Scholarship Programme was created by our CEO Dr Natalie Kenny in 2014. The aim of our programme is to support pre-university students who wish to attend BioGrad Training courses to develop their clinical and scientific skills. We recently developed our scholarship programme further by increasing the number of scholarships available as well as adding more courses to widen the choice for students. The scholarship programme was created for exceptional students, needing to develop their knowledge and skills further, to pursue a successful career in science or medicine.

Who can apply?

Any student from our partner schools may apply for a scholarship. However, completing the application form does not guarantee a scholarship will be granted as each application form must be reviewed. We grant 20 scholarships per year which, unfortunately, means not every partner school will receive a scholarship place. Of the 20 available, 2 fully funded and 2 part funded scholarships will be available exclusively to students who qualify for pupil premium and/or free school meals. As a company, we wish to ensure that students from any background who have a genuine passion for science and medicine are able to take advantage of the scholarship opportunities available. The courses we offer scholarships for are:

  • Essential Laboratory Techniques
  • Medical School Preparation
  • Cardiac & Pulmonary Medicine
  • UCAT/BMAT Preparation
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Orthopaedic Medicine
  • Biomedical Science
  • Clinical Skills and Medical Research

BioGrad Scholarships

We have increased the number of scholarships available to students of our partner schools to 20 per year. 10 scholarships will be fully funded and 10 will be part (50%) funded.

We offer the scholarship scheme to support college/pre-university students who wish to attend BioGrad Training courses to develop their clinical and scientific skills. The school or student will cover the remainder of the costs of the part funded scholarships.

Personal statement

We require a personal statement written by the student to accompany the application form. This must be 400 words in total (+/- 10%) and cover the following:

  • Why they wish to attend the course.
  • Why they wish to attend the course at BioGrad Training specifically.
  • Their future academic and career goals.
  • How our course will help them to achieve these goals.
  • The student’s predicted grades must also be submitted. All applications must come from a school email address and be signed by a Careers Advisor or Head of Year.
  • We also ask for a reference from a member of staff at your school.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ACCOMODATION AND TRAVEL COSTS ARE NOT INCLUDED.
